The OSCARS ceremony that was held on Sunday and introduced by Ellen DeGeneres, had 43 million viewers in USA. According to ABC, that was the largest audience for Academy Awards for a decade, with a 6.4% increase compared with the last year ceremony.
The largest audience registered ever was that of 2004 for the “Lord of Rings: Return of the King” movie with 43.6 million viewers. Meanwhile the most viewed on TV was the one of 1998, when the triumph of “Titanic” with 11 awards was viewed by 53.6 million viewers.
The second introducing by DeGeneres is considered as an event in safe hands, whereas the last year ceremony was introduced by McFarlane, who took lots of critics. The DeGeneres performance was considered as the old efforts to attract more the youth viewers.
Despite of this, according the data it is founded that during the Sunday ceremony, it has been a 1% increase of viewers between 18-34 years old.
